Thanks for all the responses. It seems judging by this
web page that the Savage is most popular in Germany and
North America. Every once in a while I get a hold of a
British Bike magazine and it seems that old standard or
sport bikes are the big thing there. Cruisers don't seem
to be a popular in England as over here "on the other side
of the pond". I assume that BMW is big in Germany. There
is quite a following of BMW in the States as well.
